Agree, but would add that almost every athlete in any contact sport embellishes contact occasionally. It's second nature trying to draw fouls. Don't necessarily like it, but it's part of the game. Yes, Redbird fans need to absolutely chill with the accusations of Ron Baker, but Shocker fans need to chill with the hate fest of Illinois State.

I could go without reading on every single thread that "clearly Illinois State fans are the worst around"...

I have a ton of respect for WSU but of course my opinion does not matter because I'm apart of the worst fan base of all time.

I don't think he embellishes contact. I think he makes certain that any possible contact above his shoulders is brought to the attention of the referees as fast as possible. A lot of players in the league don't do that, but there were a lot of inarguable shots taken at Baker's face in previous years (and a few this year), and he's clearly been told to make sure any possible high contact is reviewed immediately. The amount of times he's been hit in the face means at least some of those are done intentionally.

Baker almost never goes to the ground with hard contact. He does, however, immediately notify Marshall whenever contact nears his face.

As for third, that was probably decided with that SIU loss, unless Indiana State drops another one they shouldn't. Hard to recover from a loss to a Thursday night team when you're chasing a team that has already swept you.
