Another Expansion/Realignment Thread

I'm hearing the same and can confirm it is legit. I have been sworn to secrecy, but I can let out a few of the details which confirm this.

There was a flight into Springfield-Branson (SGF). They couldn't tell me the flight number or origination, but on that flight was a briefcase with all the information. That briefcase was delivered to a guy named Casey outside of a Ranch Pizza on Battlefield.

Rumors that the MVC is adding a 12th school. Hoping for St. Thomas if they go to 12.

Somewhat worried it might be UT-Arlington again, especially if Tarleton and Abilene decide to cozy up to the summit table. It’ll definitely be a President’s choice over athletic prowess, but I see why their industry consultants would tell them to make the play. Lots of potential students. Now rather that actually materializes is a different story, but I get why President’s council would want it.

I guess you could also make the case that if the summit’s becoming more football focused, STU may not want the travel and wants to stay more regional. They’re still a good add for the Valley (better than Denver, Bob Oral, Milwaukee, etc), if for no other reasons than they’re committing money to basketball and are 1 of 2 D1 programs in their entire state.

I don't want UT Arlington either, but they are a better choice than UMKC or Omaha.

It's unfortunate that St. Thomas doesn't have a message board so we can't work out how their administration may be thinking.

With Missouri State leaving, the Expansion Committee must consider baseball and even soccer, since Northern Illinois will be taking their program to the Horizon League, leaving the Valley at 7 soccer teams.

I don't believe any of this stuff, but for the love of God, if we are adding a 12th and it is anyone other than st thomas we are doing this wrong.

St. Thomas probably does more for student recruitment than anybody else. I think Minnesota kids are more likely to go to school in Iowa or Illinois than Texans.

We should expand to 14 by adding the Dakotas.
I know, I know, an unpopular opinion but at least hear me out.
the trend these days appears to be super conderences. All the cool kids are doing it. Also, as much as it breaks my heart, we are a 1 bid leauge that is unlikely to make deep runs very often so the money that we would split from NCAA tourney wins is trivial.
Anyways with the Dakotas, we declare ourselves an FBS conference (apparently it's easy nowadays to become FBS ). We are likely going to be better than Conferenxe USA. We laugh at Missouri State. Perfect plan, right?

Dakota's are restructuring their voting power within the MVFC and considering a rule where all football sponsoring summit teams must play within the MVFC so I doubt they would be interested in moving Olympic conferences at this point
