NDSU 19-6 if they win out and happen to lose to Oakland at Summit tourney, they would be 26-7 with losses to #3 Indiana #18 Minnesota 2 other loses in last minute plus Wins over Akron, Morehead state twice, Youngstown, Duqeunse.

with an RPI of #55-60 they would be a bubble team

27-6 NDSU will be after we win the summit and goto the NCAA's that's not good enough for the MVC? reallY?

We actively shun teams and mock them if their signature non-conference win is @Morehead.

(Akron would be a very quality win though)

You reference this year's record, which is fine. But we're not interested in peak. We're interested in that NDSU's baseline is. What is your year-in, year-out, expectations, over 5 years, 10, 20? Everyone in this league has demonstrated in the past decade that they can peak in a similar manner to this year's NDSU. What we want is someone who's down years don't actively hurt the league.

Great point TAS.

As I said--I am not opposed to NDSU and SDSU just because of their name, etc.

But don't talk about your peak years. Talk about sustainability. Maybe there aren't enough D1 years of experience to make a statement one way or another. A lot of mid and low major teams have had nice individual seasons here and there.

I am one person who thinks, economically, the two schools would be fine. I don't like them geographically however. Nor do I like them as major public institutions.

If you have a good women's team? Good. You have a good volleyball team? Good for you. You win some softball games? Nice. None of it matters. If it did my beloved Bradley Braves wouldn't be in the league. This league is about men's basketball. We play men's basketball at the big boy level. Real arenas. Real players. Great history.

Now, I am not saying NDSU or SDSU can't get there--maybe they can. I think there is a LOT of money at both schools. But every single school in the MVC has basketball as it's #1 priority. MAYBE you could argue UNI is different but I don't think so. Doug Elgin couldn't even name the two teams that played in the MVC Football Championship game.

I would recommend any NDSU or SDSU fan to come to Arch Madness in St. Louis. You will get what I am talking about.

I also agree with others about the public/private thing. I don't see the remaining MVC private schools jumping on board to add two, large public institutions.

But tribe, that ignores the fact that Bradley is in based on longevity and basketball tradition alone. It wouldn't be in today if it had that tradition and was never a member, given the state of all of its sports.

The MVFC has a championship Game?

I'm not either. But I do think there are better options.

A) Who cares
B) You will never get to the NCAA tournament in the MVC

Well at least they would have something in common with Wichita State.
