Honestly, Toure Murry being on second team is a joke. That is the only real problem I have with any of the selections. One could easily argue that he was the weak link of that team this year.

Anthony James, Jake Odum, Rice, or Fay are all much more deserving.

I like the choices and think they are probably the most accurate they have been in some time (Murray notwithstanding).

With Murray, I suspect the voters were probably trying to put another Shocker on the roster considering WSU was the second place team. This year's Shox resemble the Jays under Dana in that the great depth leads to a bunch of guys with decent numbers, but they don't play enough minutes to put up big numbers.

I'd rather have seen Gabe Blair Hon Mention, strike Murry completely and move one of the other guys up to 2nd team.

Murray would have been better suited to be on the all-defense team. That being said sOme shocker fans are having a little selective memory. Murray was asked to run point for a large portion Of the season until Ragland came around which hurt his overal stats. But he was a good rebounder and defensive player and wsu would not have been where they are if he had not did what was asked of him unselfishly. I'm glad he got rewarded for the intangibles that he brought to wsu team and that most would overlook.

So Fay finishes 6th in POY voting but is only honorable mention?

Pretty good list other than what others have already said about Murry being 2nd team.

The defensive MVP probably should have been O'Rear and not Kwadzo. I mean we gave up 70 points in 7 of the 8 games he didn't play this year. Otherwise we were giving up like 58 points a game or something like that. He made a huge difference for our team. I could also argue that James is a better defender than Kwadzo too.

Congratulations to all players though! Most were well deserving!!

As far as Murry goes I think we would have been better off living with Rags and DWill at the point. Murry had some bright spots, but no matter what position he's played this year he's taken bad shots (poor shooting percentage), made too many boneheaded turnovers (poor decision making), and completely choked at the end of a couple of games preventing the Shox from even having a chance to win the games. And he nearly cost us against Tulsa.

I like the guy and he could/should bring more to the team. But he is living off of what he did as a Frosh. I wouldn't mind seeing his minutes go down some in the Lou. And I never want to see him handling the ball in end of game situations. I'd put any of the hon. men. guys on 2nd team over him.

I hope either Cotton or Wessel are able to step in and take some minutes next year, because I don't think we want Murry averaging 30+ minutes a game. Unless he gets his act together between now and next season and learns to play smarter and stop taking bad shots. At least when Kyles takes a bad shot there's a better chance of it going in than when Murry does.

Murry has hurt us way more than he's helped us this year. People need to stop living in the past with him. He has regressed and certainly doesn't deserve all-valley recognition. I personally don't think he's one of the seven best players on our team.
