Need more?

Our best player McIntosh went 0 for 10 from the field against Wichita. Yes, he made ZERO shots.

Man, we only get up for those Shox games and play the game of our lives. It must be the only way Wichita can lose...play the game of our lives

Oh wait.

I love it that you got so mad about it that it took 2 back-to-back posts to get things off your chest. You're quite the amuser.

Ok, instead of cherry-picking the question, how about we check in with some game-by-game results. Missouri State? TCU? Close games with Bradley, Morehead State and something called a Quincy? lol

Championz....I wish ISUr had two Senior All American candidates starting for them but unfortunately their two best players are Sophomores....McIntosh and Hawkins. They have great potential but are widely inconsistent with a prime example being Mac going 0-10 against the Shockers.

That leads to some close wins against lesser teams and some nice shows against ranked teams. Hopefully when they are Seniors they can bring it every night and get the Birds to the top of the league.

Fact is though they won 22 games last year and should win at least 18-20 again this season.
That's not good enough yet....but to say they only get up for WSU is absurd.

Hawkins has been pretty consistent most of the year. McIntosh more so in conference besides 2 or 3 games scoring wise

Statistically speaking, everyone is in danger of playing Thursday minus the Shockers.

Thank you, Hacksaw.

Your are right that Hawkins has been more consistent this year but McIntosh has had 7 games with 16 pts. or more and 7 games of 5 or less. That has kept games closer than they should have like 0 against Drake (Birds won by 5) 5 pts vs @Loyola (won by 2) and 2 pts @ Bradley...won by 3. He also only scored 4 against Mo State and the Shockers. So thats 5 out of 12 Valley games he has under performed which would lead me to say he has been inconsistent!

First off, I didn't get that mad, I just submitted a 2nd post rather than editing the original. No big deal.

Secondly, Recon touched on our inconsistent play yesterday. Player turnover is a major key to that. Each year we have to essentially start over with half a new team and incorporate a culture of play that fits Muller's style.

However, you asked to look at stats to signify that ISUr plays better against WSU, and not so well against teams like the ones you mentioned. The stats show the contrary in the theory that we play better vs you. We did not play well against you. That was my point. Regardless of how terrible and inconsistent we have been all year (I'm the first to say so - even prematurely hashtagging #FireDanMuller), it's not as if we played better or even decent offensively against you.

So my "cherry-picking" was to prove the stats do not support you and the other WSU fans theory. I totally agree that we occassionally suck against "supposed" lesser opponents.

By the way should this subject change to "Is Indiana State in Danger of Thursday play?"

7-6 right now and a game off 7th.

Upcoming schedule for Indy St -
@MoSt (currently in 7th)
@ISUr
vs Shox
@UNI
vs Bradley

That could easily be a 1-4 finish and an 8-10 conference record

the Sycamores will fill the 7th or 8th slot for sure, we only have one more "possible" win on the schedule, at home vs. Bradley, but even that could be a loss. More than likely we're staring at 4 straight losses in a row, the team has essentially raised the white flag on the season sadly.
